Dr Styliani Gkika

BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist

I have experience in face-to-face and phone cognitive psychotherapy with people suffering from anxiety disorders (such as, generalised anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and social anxiety disorder) and depression. Furthermore, I have experience in working with problems of low self-esteem.

I am accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) since 2007, and a graduate member of the British Psychological Association (BPS). As an accredited member of the BABCP, I work within their Guidelines of Conduct, Performance, and Ethics. I am currently working towards my re-accreditation as a practitioner (due in 2012) and I receive regular supervision for clinical practice by BABCP accredited supervisors. Additionally, since October 2009, I teach and supervise trainees at a postgraduate course in cognitive-behavioural therapy at the University of Bolton.
